“It’s a human relationship, not a relationship between an expert and a problem"

Rachel Naomi Remen

Therapy is a collaborative process, and the real work happens within the context of relationship. I work with adults, teens and children who are dealing with anxiety, trauma or sexual abuse and issues related to gender identity.  I have over 20 years of experience working in a variety of settings, including community mental health, school based, and medical. I provided trauma focused therapy to adult and child survivors of sexual violence at the King County Sexual Assault Resource Center and treated people managing symptoms of post traumatic stress.

Although I have a basis in psychodynamic theory, I rely heavily on treatments that have been researched and proven to be effective. These methods include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Exposure Therapy, and Mindfulness. While working at the King County Sexual Assault Resource Center, I received training on the treatment of PTSD from Lori Zoellner at the Center for Anxiety and Traumatic Stress at the University of Washington.

I conduct trainings for educators, and mental and medical health providers in King County on gender identity development and gender diverse youth.

I provide services in English and Spanish.

I am not currently paneled with any insurance companies. However, I can provide you with the proper documentation to submit to your insurance in order for you to receive any out of network benefits allocated to you by your plan. My fee is $200 per session. Sessions are 50-53 minutes.
